I’ve spent two decades designing products that are meant to work for everyone—and I mean everyone. That includes people with disabilities, neurodivergent users, people navigating complex systems for the first time, and the millions who rely on public services to meet everyday needs.

This blog is a place to share what I’ve learned—and what I’m still figuring out—about building accessible, human-centered systems in environments that aren’t always set up for innovation.

You can expect posts on:

  • Accessibility that scales, including cognitive accessibility

  • Designing for trust—especially in government and civic tech

  • Behind-the-scenes of large, high-impact design work

  • Lessons from 20 years of navigating design, strategy, and bureaucracy

  • UX patterns, product tradeoffs, and design systems that actually work

I’ve led the design of platforms like USA.gov, Vote.gov, and energy products used by millions. I’ve also worked in the private sector across education, engineering, and behavioral health—often bringing accessibility and inclusion into spaces where it hadn’t been considered before.

If you're someone who cares about making services more usable, more inclusive, and more effective—from the inside out—you’ll find something here.

Let’s make systems better. For real people.
